After many setbacks, the clearing of the site marked an important moment, as work finally got underway on a project that had been eagerly anticipated by the local community.
The photographs capture the site during those early stages, before construction began to transform it into the new community hub we see taking shape today.
They also provide a wonderful snapshot of Durrow on that particular day, with a circus taking place in The Square just a short distance away — adding a splash of colour to this memorable moment in the project’s history.
